Student affairs VP Robyn Hadley leaves UVA
Robyn S. Hadley, who served in the consolidated role of vice president of student affairs and dean of students for just over a year and was at UVA for just over two, left the University on Aug. 1.
President James E. Ryan (Law class of ’92) announced Hadley’s departure July 21. He praised her for leading Student Affairs with “grace and determination” through challenges such as the COVID-19 pandemic and the fatal shooting of three students in November 2022. The announcement made no mention of Hadley’s plans.
Hadley came to UVA as vice president of student affairs in June 2021, and the job was consolidated with the dean of students position in June 2022 after the top candidate to replace former Dean of Students Allen Groves (Law class of ’90) withdrew.
The jobs will again be separate moving forward. Ryan announced interim appointments while a search is conducted for new leaders.
