Miller Center Kicks off National Debate Series

Iraq is first topic

Miller Center

This fall, UVA’s Miller Center of Public Affairs launches the National Discussion and Debate Series. The first event focuses on U.S. involvement in Iraq and will take place September 18 in the Rotunda’s Dome Room. Four nationally prominent participants will debate whether keeping troops in Iraq is vital to America’s national interests in the Middle East. The event will be webcast live at millercenter.org/debates.

During the 2007-08 academic year, four additional policy debates will address topics including health care, privacy in post-9/11 America, immigration and the changing nature of family.
