By Feb. 1, UVA had released nearly 8,030 offers of admission in the early decision and early action rounds for the Class of 2029. Early decision is binding; its applicants grew by about 11 percent this year, up from 4,465 students last year to nearly 4,971 this year.

Early action provides a faster admission decision but isn’t binding. This year’s group of early action applicants also grew by 11 percent, up from 37,642 last year to 41,885.

What’s next? Regular decision offers will go out by April 1. UVA’s goal is to enroll about 3,970 students for the first-year class.
