Sarah Wood Anderson (Col ’00 L/M) and David Anderson (Col ’00 L/M) announced the birth of their son, William Donald, on Aug. 18, 2006. The family is relocating to Madison, Wis., in January, when Mr. Anderson will begin pursing a postdoctorate degree in the University of Wisconsin’s math department.

Ian Buxton (Com ’00 L/M) and Kimberly Crawford Buxton (Com ’00 L/M) celebrated their first wedding anniversary at their home in the Vail Valley in Colorado. Mr. Buxton is working as an IT compliance manager for Vail Resorts Inc. and Ms. Buxton is working as a senior consultant for Appian Corp. They will soon be moving to Denver. |
Alexandra H. Ellen (Col ’00 L/M) and Jeremy A. Ebrahim (Com ’00 L/M were married on July 1, 2006. The couple resides in New York City.
Kristi Kneas (Grad ’00) is an assistant professor of chemistry at Elizabethtown College. For the past six years, she was on the faculty at Maryville College in Tennessee, where she was granted tenure.
Catina Newsome (Col ’00 L/M) and George Hadijski were married on July 8, 2006. Ms. Newsome is a lobbying information specialist for the U.S. Senate, while Mr. Hadijski is the director of member services, committee on house administration, for the U.S. House of Representatives. The couple resides in Falls Church, Va.
Eugene Peysakh (Com ’00 L/M) married Keren Shashoua on Sept. 5, 2005. They welcomed their first child and son, Yonatan Moshe, on Aug. 15, 2006. The family resides in New York City.
Michelle A. Kessler (Col ’01) and Darren D. Ralston were married on June 10, 2006. The wedding party included Jennifer Kessler (Engr ’00), Jordan Smith Hertz (Col ’00, Educ ’02) and Dana Ralston (Col ’00). Ms. Kessler is pursuing a Ph.D. degree at U.Va. Mr. Ralston teaches and is pursuing a master’s of education degree at the University. The couple resides in Waynesboro, Va.
Jillian C. Schneider (Col ’01 L/M) and Justin T. Banford (Col ’02) were married on Aug. 18, 2006. Jennifer Portu (Col ’02, Educ ’04 L/M) served as the maid of honor. Ms. Schneider recently earned a doctoral degree in clinical psychology and neuropsychology from Drexel University. She is completing a postdoctoral fellowship with the Children’s National Medical Center in Washington, D.C. Mr. Banford graduated from George Mason University School of Law in May 2005. He currently practices law with a small firm in Northern Virginia.
Brian S. Witt (Engr ’01), an architect and engineer with the Lynchburg district of the Virginia Department of Transportation, received his professional engineer licensure.
Charles "C.J." Carder (Com ’02 L/M) married Joy Brantley on Aug. 5, 2006. The wedding party included Marcus Holmes (Col ’02 L/M), Andy Radford (Com ’03) and Krystal Caprio (Nurs ’06).

Courtenay Hylton Morrow (Col ’02 L/M) began medical school in August at Touro University Nevada’s College of Osteopathic Medicine in Henderson, Nev. Her husband, Rob Morrow (Engr ’01 L/M), is a U.S. Navy lieutenant, stationed as a flight officer with VX-9 at Nellis Air Force Base, Nev. In attendance at Ms. Morrow’s white coat ceremony were her husband, parents and sister, Annie Hylton McLaughlin (Col ’06, Educ ’06 L/M). |
Brian Toth (Law ’02) and Maria Mlynar (Law ’02) welcome the arrival of their first child, Luke Anthony Mlynar Toth, on June 17, 2006. The family resides in the Washington, D.C., area, where Mr. Toth works as a public lands and natural resources litigator and Ms. Mlynar works as an immigration attorney, both employed by the U.S. Department of Justice.
Danna Weiss (Col ’02 L/M) received a master’s degree in Middle Eastern studies from Harvard University on June 8, 2006. Ms. Weiss is a Jack Kent Cooke Graduate Fellow. She currently works as project manager for Right to Play in Amman, Jordan. Right to Play is an international humanitarian organization that uses sport and play as a tool for the development of youth in the most disadvantaged areas of the world in support of every child’s right to play.
Kadie Bye (Col ’03 L/M) married Rob Desoe on May 27, 2006, in Sedalia, Colo. The wedding party included Melissa Kahn (Col ’03 L/M) and Lauren Purnell (Col ’03 L/M).
Caroline L. King (Col ’03 L/M) and Luca J. Sciullo (Col ’03) were married on June 9, 2006, at the University Chapel. Among the many alumni in attendance, the wedding party included Emily Damgaard (Col ’03, Nurs ’05 L/M), Erika Thelen Fennell (Col ’03), Sarah Johns (Col ’03 L/M), Kate VanDerbeek (Col ’03 L/M), Chris Edwards (Engr ’03) and Scott Shumate (Col ’03). The couple resides in Alexandria, Va.
Elizabeth Pettibone (Col ’03, Educ ’05) and Kevin Pass (Com ’03) were married on June 10, 2006. Mr. and Ms. Pass live in Astoria, N.Y., where Ms. Pass works as an assistant dean of admission at Hofstra University and Mr. Pass is a senior analyst at Ogilvy & Mather.
Nick Boswell (Com ’04 L/M) and his wife, Michelle, welcomed their first child and son, Nicholas James Boswell on March 30, 2006. Mr. Boswell is a sales engineer for Tobii Technology in McLean, Va.
Nate Hanfman (Engr ’04 L/M) married Liz Guiffre on June 24, 2006. Mr. Hanfman works as a systems engineer for SAIC and is currently attending George Washington University, where he is pursuing a master’s degree in systems engineering.
Mariam E. Hayes (Col ’04 L/M) and Thomas C. Morse (Col ’04) were married on July 22, 2006. Attendants included Allison Leardi Keilman (Col ’03 L/M), Emily Mollick (Col ’04), Sarah Young (Col ’04 L/M), Nicholas Borrelli (Col ’04) and Christopher Wenzel (Engr ’06). The couple resides in Pensacola, Fla., where Ms. Morse is an intelligence officer in the U.S. Air Force and Mr. Morse is in pilot training with the U.S. Marine Corps.
Riley Swinehart (Col ’04) and Sarah Shankman (Col ’04 L/M) were married on June 17, 2006, in Millwood, Va. The couple currently resides in Arlington, Va.
Leslie A. Taylor (Col ’04 L/M) and John A. Lillard were married on Aug. 20, 2005. Mr. Lillard is a self-employed contractor and operates a music recording studio. Ms. Lillard is pursuing a master’s degree in rehabilitation counseling at Virginia Commonwealth University. The couple resides in Charlottesville.

Michael Trimble (Col ’04 L/M), earned distinguished graduate honors while completing C-130 navigator training at Little Rock Air Force Base, Ark. First Lieutenant Trimble began a three-year tour at Ramstein Air Base, Germany, in September 2006. |

Erin Gray (Educ ’06) is the new director of fraternity and sorority life at the Illinois Institute of Technology in Chicago.
