Schumer, the chairman of the Senate Committee on Rules and Administration. Since joining the Senate Rules Committee in 2006, Mr. Ambrogi has been central to the development of far-reaching election legislation and has led the drafting, review and implementation of Senate regulations. Most recently, he was instrumental to the passage of the Military and Overseas Voter Empowerment Act, making it easier for U.S. troops and other voters to cast ballots from overseas. Mr. Ambrogi previously served as special assistant and counsel for Commissioner Ray Martinez of the U.S. Election Assistance Commission. Mr. Kirwan has been a member of the Virginia Tech community since 1978. He co-authored Remarkable Trees of Virginia, and his tree conservation efforts have garnered more publicity for the college than any other professor to date. Mr. Kirwan led a natural resources and environmental education program that annually reached 30,000 youth who planted trees and took other positive steps to care for the environment. For 20 years, he directed a comprehensive 4-H program for the citizens of Albemarle and Loudoun counties.
