Aubrey R. “Bunky” Bowles III (Col ’55, Law ’58) received the 2009 APVA Preservation Virginia’s “Outstanding Domestic Project” award for the renovation of the Hancock-Wirt-Caskie House. The award is presented to the owner, architect or contractor of a project that exemplifies a profound effort and sensitivity in preserving a domestic residence.

Gene Crotty (Com ’55, GSBA ’57 L/M) is on the board of directors of the Thomas Jefferson Heritage Society, Inc., a non-profit foundation formed to define and defent the legacy of Thomas Jefferson. Mr. Crotty is a local historian, author and retired professor. Mr. Crotty served on the faculties of U.Va., Georgia Tech, UNC, University of Texas and Texas A&M. He has authored three books: Jefferson’s Legacy: His Own University, Visits of Lewis and Clark to Fincastle, Virginia, Jefferson’s Western Travels and Th. Jefferson Trivia: The Many Facets of a Fascinating Man.
