Thomas F. Pettigrew (Col ’52) is a research professor of social psychology at the University of California, Santa Cruz. This summer, he received the 2010 Harold Lasswell Award from the International Society for Political Psychology, in recognition of his scientific contributions in the field of political psychology. He gave an address entitled “The Post-Racism Myth and Mass Media Mistakes.” In August, Mr. Pettigrew will receive the Ralph White Lifetime Achievement Award from the Society for Peace, Conflict, and Violence. His speech topic is “Structurally Grounded Psychological Insights: Toward Sustainable Effects.”
